How am I charged for talk?

How are international long distance calls charged?

International Long Distance calling rates are charged per minute and apply throughout the same footprint in which your domestic airtime package minutes apply. International rates apply for calls made from the U.S., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands to another country. Calling to some countries may not be available. Calls to wireless numbers and numbers for special services, such as Premium Rated Services, may cost more than calls to wireline numbers. If you call an overseas wireline number and the call is forwarded to a wireless number, you will be charged for a call terminated to a wireless number.

Will I be charged international long distance rates to call U.S. territories?

No, with AT&T wireless service, calls to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas), Guam, and Northern Mariana Islands are considered domestic calls.

Does AT&T offer discounted rates for international long distance calling?

Yes. When you add AT&T Connect World Advantage package for $15/month per device to a qualified rate plan, you’ll get unlimited calling from the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to landline number in 70 countries and to wireless numbers in 36 of those countries. You’ll also enjoy discounted calling rates to over 160 other countries. Rates to these are available on att.com/wcadvantage. For postpaid wireless voice plans with capped domestic minutes, international long distance (ILD) count against the allotment of domestic voice minutes under your rate plan. If you exceed your plan’s monthly voice minute allowance, overage charges (up to $0.45/minute) will apply.

Are there any special international calling plans for Canada and Mexico?

AT&T offers unlimited domestic rate plans that include unlimited calling from the U.S. to Canada and Mexico. Details can be found at att.com/unlimited. Or, for $15/month per device, you can add World Connect Advantage to a qualified rate plan and get unlimited calls from the U.S. to Canada and Mexico.
